Katie McGuinness, a junior at La Canada High in California, placed second in her debut in the heptathlon with 4,539 points at the Arcadia Multis as part of the 56th Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High in California. McGuinness ran 15.44 in the 100-meter hurdles, cleared 5-4.25 (1.63m) in the high jump, achieved a mark of 26-7.25 (8.11m) in the shot put, clocked 25.58 in the 200 meters, had a leap of 17-6 (5.33m) in the long jump, produced a javelin throw of 72-5 (22.09m) and concluded with a 2:24.40 effort in the 800 meters.
